A matter of honour

I'm writing this after an exciting ten-pins bowling match in the afternoon. It started off as a time pass for a bunch of 7 friends. It was every person for himself or herself, fun and laughter, when it began. As long as some of the guys were in the lead, nothing seemed "unusual". But then, girls started overtaking the high scores, that's when the Girls vs Guys mentality came into picture. It became a matter of honour for the guys and a challenge for the girls to prove themselves. Bowling balls maybe too heavy for the girls but final scores were in "favour" of the girls.

Imagine "opposite" points of view in any Girls Vs Guys game.

GIRLS VIEW:
Guys won. So what?..they are guys.
Girls won. Yes we did it!! we can also win over guys.

GUYS VIEW:
Guys won. We always do. What's so great about that?..Come on, it was against girls!
Girls won. That's sheer luck. We should let them win sometimes. One of those rare cases.

It's not just a matter of winning a game but of sentiments, a matter of honour, of egos and of orthodox mindsets. I guess the debate for equality of men and women will go on for some time.

Nice post. The end clearly talks abt ego, matter of honour that makes us enjoy the win over the other. In my personal view people shouldn't get biased for any particular sex.Sometimes in life we go into ego mode when we start shouting that we are better than other, this is just an another way of showing your weakness.Just writing 2 lines saying boys are best or girls are best doesn't make you best.People make such general statements just to get support from fellow group members.I have never seen anyone in life who can prove himself best in everything and say that no one can beat them in any matter.I think sometimes it is good to live in dream world as it cost you nothing :)

Ahem! before I put my views, I shd write dwn a few facts about both the genders. Because this blog is bout the bowling game, so talk'g bout games, the guys r generally better thn the girls (no offence, girls. u r better thn guyz in some othr things). Now guyz hv a vry weird feel'g whn they lose. They can't take it easily. They find as if this news will be on the morning headlines nxt day and the whole world wl be laughing at thm. And this feeling is not bcz they lost against the girls, it happens evn if they lose against a guys' team. So, to cover it up and consolate thmslvs they say smthing like wat Kezha hs written.
Now that the girls hv won the game, they think tht they hv achieved something tht's nxt to impossible bcz in the bk of thr mind, they knw guyz r better in this business.
In the blog you can notice one thing; whn the guyz win, both the genders hv a similar sort of reaction which states that the outcme ws obvious. But whn the result turned out in the other way, both of the groups hd different statements (depending upon who won n who lost). Grls said "we can win" which implies tht it's nt always tht they will lose, they can win sometimes. And to no surprise, boyz say "it's a rare case whn girls win... may be they hd better luck".
And for the last few lines of the blog, in every game it is always a matter of honour, ego, pride & lot of things. That's what a game is all about. I dnt agree with people who say "forget it! it's just a game.". I would say, ask the player who lost it. It will be his worst nightmare. And who wins, is on the 9th cloud. But for the bowling game, I would say "it ws just fr fun, nt fr a world title, i suppose". So ppl cn chillax n put an end this debate on the saturday evn'g.
However, the battle betwn genders will always b thr n everywhr.
